Michelle, I was trying to keep our secret. It’s true everyone, I left Nick for Michelle. I was toying with Tony Romo to try to hide it, but now that I’m spending so much time in Nashville it’s pretty obvious to everyone.
Caption: Tommy confronts a member of the Board of Directors in the parking lot, demanding to know what happened to the carbs in the Science lab!
Okay…all this celebrity BS…obviously you have too much time on your hands! Well, I’m back to my dungeon. Things aren’t looking to promising around here. I’ve got to finish 2 rooms before next Friday…..I need some major go juice to make it through this. Geez!
Michelle-I understand. If I was in the same situation, I am sure a restraining order would be put out for me! Now, the Jessica Simpson thing, I am a little worried! Do you have anything you need to share with us before the reunion?
I got my room. Jessica called and she was super mad when she found out I might be staying with you. And she’s kinda a big girl (bigger than me) and I didn’t want her to whip my a$$. Although Ben might have liked to see that…..two girls fighting. Hahaha
Richard – since you have such a super duper memory – you will recall previously that I DO NOT SWING. Once again I can only speak for myself and know nothing about Michelle and Jessica or Michelle and Jessica and Nick. Hahaha
No credit cards! WTF???I get paid to use my credit card…that sucks. Plus there is not enough cash anywhere to pay for what all I’m planning on drinking. I guess I will have to get blitzed before going out to eat. LOL!
Carolyn…are you with me on this? What about you Sharon??? What time will cocktails be served?
Hopefully, I will be buzzing so good that when I spill sh*t..I mean dinner on myself the only thing I will be saying is…”Out, out, damn spot!”- Lady Macbeth.
How bout that Richard? Mrs. Sells would be impressed to know that we remembered quotes from 20 years ago. LOL!
Okay…gotta run. More baseball games…then back home to work..work..work.
Me thinks perchance (there Richard- but I butchered the spelling I’m sure) that Bud thinks “ignorance is bliss” for the tax man….
Sorry Michelle- you’re right on the phone. That and it has been back in my room all day and I’ve been chasing kids- my Mom has way too many sources of water around and Emerson loves trying to drown herself when no-one’s looking… calling you now….
Bud could be in the Pharmacy business or the restaurant could be a front for a bookie business?
No really, cash is a GOOD thing! The only time I get cash is on monogrammed items or small stuff. The thing is…with me there is an option you can do cash, check, or credit card.
Ok guys lay off my man Bud. Don’t be starting any rumors. It’s not a front for anything I am sure. But I can be a little naive. But I don’t care as long as the food is good, the drinks are strong and the music is jammin.
I will not let you people take the joy of Wiggles away from me. Of course it’s kind of funny that Sharon’s first born is going to Bonnaroo where the real devil spawns are and my first born is going to see the Wiggles. HEEHEE!
OK ya’ll race day tomorrow at Oak Mountain innB-Ham. Go to http://www.xterraplanet.com and check out the sport race in Oak Mnt. on the 7th. I am doing the tri and Gina is doing the duathlon. Wish us luck.
I’m doing my own marathon in my basement. I was down there until after midnight last night. I was able to stay down there that long b/c Greg took all the kids to the Braves game and it went into extra innings!
I’m going back down there again today….I may be able to pull this off, if everything goes as planned.
Rod: keep us updated on the forecast.
Good luck on ALL your marathons- sewing, tris and duathalons! I’m sure all of you will do great.
I have my own mini driving marathon today- by myself, 2 kids, 5.5 hours. Thank GOD for mini-DVD players and earphones. Fingers crossed they will want to use them and not fight with eachother the whole time. Leaving in an hour
I’ll try to keep the rain % updated at the top, but it changes hourly. But if you click where it says “Weather Forecast” just under the # of days it will take you to the current Weather Channel forecast.
Laura, I suspect Ben S. is going to have a field day with your comment about “Business in the front, all party in the back…” I’m not touching it.
Richard, awesome caption. One thing would be a good addition. Do you remember the “cool” word that I think Mark started… Preesh (phonetic spelling, not sure how to really spell it…it was short for I appreciate it). So, slightly modified quote:
Kevin: “Davo, I like your mullet.”
Davo: “Preesh! Back at ya, Kev.”
Kevin: “Man, all those girls with puffy hair are going to be so embarrassed in 20 years when they look back at their 80’s hair style.”
All- less than a week! Can’t believe it. I’m making name tags now, Michelle is getting the last few necessities (DRINK TICKETS!- btw- those go for alcoholic and non-alcoholic- for our DDs)- we have the bb tickets, plan B for rain, food and drinks planned, band hired, decorations gathered, all ready to go! If I need any final information from anyone, I have emailed you.
Going to be a great weekend. See ya’ll Friday and Saturday! I’m sure I’ll still be on here up to the last minute. I will be flying to Bham to stay with a college friend on Wednesday, but I am taking my computer and cell phone- so if you need to, call me on that.
Would love to! But not sure I can swing it- will have the kids solo (Jim does not fly in till Thurs night) and only a small amount of time to spend with my friend from college- so I’ll have to wait until the weekend.
Michelle- got the name tag- tell him the pressure is on!
Jut a warning to everyone (as I hear my kids screaming at each other right now), since Jim is going to play golf on Saturday, I’ll have the kids with me at the pool. Sorry. If anyone wants to bring theirs, too, maybe they would entertain each other- especially after meeting Friday night! Maybe there’s a kiddie pool so we don’t terrorize all those who want to actually be grownups (as much as we can be).
Laura & I will be outside the front gate no later than 6:30 to pass out tickets. Anyone that hasn’t arrived by 7:15 I will leave in an envelope at will call. Also make sure you have our numbers. Don’t forget blankets and chairs.
Two of my boys will be at the pool Saturday. I also have a change in plans on Friday night. Anthony and Christopher have Baseball practice at 7:00 p.m. They can’t miss it. The head coach said that they cannot miss any practices, no matter how far in advance other plans were made. I think that’s a bit extreme for 9 yr old machine pitch ball. My opinion doesn’t matter though.
Anyways, if anyones needs extra tickets, I have 4 extras. I bought 2 extra for Justin (my stepson) and his girlfriend. He has moved to Florida.
I didn’t diss tennis. I was just commenting on the variety of topics here. Actually I can handle a racket fairly well (considering I play once every 5 years or so), I own a racket (but not golf clubs), and it’s free (we have courts at a city park), so it’s better than golf as far as I’m concerned. I would love to play Saturday instead of golf, but if I did I would probably be unable to walk Saturday night and probably fall asleep in my chair by 9:00.
Speaking of people falling asleep, I need to remember to bring a Sharpie…
Hello everyone, I’ve been occasionally reading the site to see what everyone was up to. I figured I would wait until I actually saw everyone to get into the conversation. Now it looks like I’m going to be a last second cancellation. My 7 year old plays on a traveling 3v3 soccer team in the summer (finished 6th in the nation last year) and her first tournament is in Nashville this weekend. I had thought that her mom could take her (I am divorced with custody of two daughters, remarried, and expecting a third daughter in August… sleep is overrated) but she backed out, so it looks like it’s just me. I hate that I’m going to miss the reunion, but I imagine a lot of the stories and pictures will get back to this site. It’s been good to glance through the blog and see so many of you doing so well.
Whew. Thanks for the reprieve Ben. I have this feeling you’ll get me this weekend though. I tend to throw up softballs from time to time.
Also glad to know Carolyn wasn’t saying something horribly inappropriate in some wild language. I love tennis, too, but I don’t follow it very much so the names escape me. I did watch a bit of the women’s French Open. Again, don’t know the names. I play about like Rod- once in a blue moon.
Steve- you will be missed! You are right, there will be plenty of stories and photos I’m sure. Rod, don’t forget that Sharpie and I will have my camera!
Mark- don’t know a thing about handicaps, but if you can put my husband Jim with Pat, that would be great. Not necessary, though, if it messes things up. I figure if he’s with Pat he can’t really hear anything worse than what Pat would say……
I watched a little bit of the women’s French Open too. Don’t know much about it or even most of their names, but some of them girls are pretty easy on the eyes. Sharapova (sp?) really cranks my tractor. ;^)
Anita: I may need your tickets. Still not sure though. Hunter has a double header on Friday. I’m not sure what time he will be done with both games, but when they are done we can head to Monkeytown. Well, that is…if I get finished sewing.
Update: I’m on my last job that has to be done before the reunion. Yippee! Unfortunately, its a bi*$h!!!! I have been working day and night to get this done. If I’m lucky enough to finish..I will need an IV of alcohol, so my hands will not have to touch a thing. I only have a bazillion holes in them from pins, needles, and staples!
Steve: Sorry you can’t make it, but I completely understand. I know..if my son were playing baseball late Friday or Saturday…I wouldn’t be there either. We will miss you!
Laura: What the crap is the sharpie for? Okay, sounds like your a bit worried about guys talking! Ha! Ha! Just tell your husband they are all a bunch of liars!! LOL!
Alicia and Skip: I’m glad to see you two are still alive!
Okay…who bet the farm on Big Brown? I hope you didn’t b/c that sucked! Well, I better run. Today is my 18th anniversary. I can’t believe it!!!! There is no time to celebrate it tonight…it will have to be postponed until another night. I’m glad I married a very understanding person. Besides, who else would have put up with me for 22 years all together? Most times, I can’t even put up with me!LOL!
Confirmed golfers are: Skip (30), Ben (12), Davo (12), Jim (14), Charlie (21), Matt (25), David (10), Pat (16.7), Andy (16) and myself (11) . We need two more players for 3 groups of 4 so we don’t play groups of 5. Way to slow.
Laura- I will place Jim with Pat. Didn’t we take a trip to Mexico?? Yeap we did.
Mark – You got the pictures, right? See what happens when I even read about pole dancing!! LOL!!
Laura – Blog etiquette, to me, is basically not posting ANYTHING that you wouldn’t want your mother or a former, current, or potential employer to read. I think I have stayed within the boundaries here.
Sharon & Alicia – Ahhhhh, Nadal and FedererI just wish he would loose the “man(ca)pris”and wear shorter shorts! Oh, and he is a total “wedgie” picker. He needs to loose that!! I wonder if he “would get it” if I sent him a pair of boxer briefs???
Pat – Didn’t you used to play tennis? ROFL!!
Wendy – You can always drink on my tab!
Who else is staying at The Renaissance? Please email me @ email@example.com if you are and are NOT on one of the lists below…
I have confirmed the following with the hotel:
Others I have heard from via email I am having added to the block:
Laura (Jason may give us “credit” for your room even though it’s booked with points)
BTW – You’ll also get the hotel update in an email shortly.
Anita – Call Jason directly or use the link I sent previously in an email (I will send it again later tonight, but I gotta run)
And anyone else…make your reservations now! If you call the hotel directly, just tell them that you are part of the STJ Class Reunion Block.
Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center
201 Tallapoosa Street
Montgomery, AL 36104
Laura, yes, I was talking about the one I linked to, with the strippers. I guess chix don’t find it quite as funny as us guys. The car one was funny also, but has been done before, such as when Karl Rove “retired” last year, his staff did that to his car.
Steven, sorry you can’t make it, I’ll see you around town though. Let us know when that baby is born.
Carolyn You would think that someone would help Nadal with his ever present personal problem. I think Jockey or one of the underwear companies should sponsor him and market how they “solved his problem”.
Hi All! Can’t wait to see everyone this weekend. Just read THIS page (for the past 2 hrs)- missed too much to go back & catch up completely. I’ve been OOT alot, etc. This site is too funny!! It will just be me & my 4yr old Fri night. Chris can’t make it til Sat. night so I’ll have an extra ticket to the Biscuits also if anyone needs it. My brother, David (if you remember him) & his family may be at the game too.
Sorry I never booked a room at the Renaissance. Had every intention to until Chris’ plans changed and threw a wrench in our weekend. Don’t see a reason to spend the$ when we have family in town to stay with, and I really don’t know how long he’ll be able to stay in Montg. Sat night. I will definitely be hanging out with everyone as much as possible & my hubby knows he can fend for himself!
Tennis fans- I love watching the Grands! Wish the Nadal/Federer “match” had been a match. I absolutely love to watch Federer play! It was hard watching him lose so badly. The Jockey underwear sponsorship for Nadal is a great idea. He is such a cheeseball, but he can sure hit a tennis ball. I expect Wimbledon will be very interesting. How about Safina in the women’s round? She was awesome to come out of nowhere! Can’t wait to see if she continues to advance in other tournaments. I love to play- played league in Montg, but haven’t had time to play much in B’ham. I miss it, and am way out of shape!
OMGoodness! It is 1 AM & I have to work today! Sharp instruments in poeple’s mouths- I probably should get some sleep! TTFN!
BTW – love the idea of caption contest for the daily pics! Mark wasn’t that your idea? Okay for Macon’s pic on June 9th: “Hmmm- Maybe I’ll be a veterinarian. I’ve got to do something with these long fingers besides diggin for gold. Maybe Large Animal Vet?”
Pat- the race was brutal, four out of the first 5 finishers passed out at the finish line and had to be given IV fluids in the medical tent. my swim and bike were great but I got cramps in my quads during the run. it was soo hot. no matter how much i drank or gels i hit it, just wasn’t enough. I finished, but it was UGLY!
I included the actual caption for the photo of Ben above because it was just too funny already. I’m not sure what is more funny, the “Society of Colonial Dames” or that Ben won an essay contest. And Ben, WITW was she giving you? A very bad flower arrangement?
Mark- can you do that? He’s meeting me in Bham Thursday night- he’s in Cleveland right now- and I’m flying there tomorrow by myself with two kids, suitcases, rental car, etc- no way I’m dragging his huge golf bag, too. Thanks so much!
Rod – I have no recollection of that picture, so not sure what she’s handing me. I wrote it as extra credit in history and apparently was one of the few in the state that did since there were only 2 winners from Alabama. I can’t even tell y’all what I wrote about. All I remember about it is the trip to DC that summer.
The differences between guys and girls. How many guys have ever noticed that Nadal has a hungry butt? I’ve watched the guy play and can’t say I’ve ever noticed him diggin. Ben is right about Sharapova she’s “Toit like a toiger” (Austin Powers reference) or as my wife’s teenagers would say, “she makes my boy parts tingle”
Michelle: “Cradle robber!!!” I only say that b/c my 16 year old got a girl’s phone number at the Braves game on Friday night…turns out she was 19 and a freshman at GT. I almost had a stroke… I told him he better have told her his real age. Plus that wasn’t ever going to happen especially while he is 16 and I’m paying the bills. I said I could understand 20 and 23, but not 16 and 19. I will do my best not to end up a grandparent at age 38 or 39….I’m ready for mine to go and I sure don’t need anymore around here. LOL!
Parking at the Ren?…..Aren’t we a little old for that? JK.
Laura: I understand the sharpie..you will not be able to do that to me! I will pass out from exhaustion well before I will from drinking. Just ask Carolyn how much it takes!
Blog etiquette…WTF…I’m too old to worry about what people think or say.Matter of fact…I don’t even care. I lost my filter a long time ago, so if I think it…I pretty much say it. LOL!
We don’t want anyone getting a DUI. And since there probably isn’t a whole lot of traffic in the downtown metropolis area at 11pm, I think we should be cautious. At any rate, as long as we keep an eye on everyone, I think we should be fine. I am not driving even if I only have one drink. So whoever is preggo, I am riding with you!
Let’s definitely plan a caravan over to K&H Saturday night- I think we have plenty of volunteer DDs- Jack? Anita? We just need to figure out who’s driving and riding, and Michelle and I will talk to the hotel to make sure the cars can be parked there.
My Jim will need a ride over to golf Saturday AM- hopefully he can ride with one of you? I’ll need our rental car.
Nothin’ wrong with a 19 year old hottie as long as you’re not friends with his Mom!! Of course, only to look…..
Wish you could stay for Saturday- but Friday’s going to be fun, too! Fingers crossed for no rain. We’ll be making the call for plan A/Plan B about noon on Friday- so make sure your cell phones are with you in case we change to the STJ gym. If you do NOT hear from us, the game is a go. We plan to have everyone called before 5 PM.
If we go to the gym, we’ll probably just make it easy and order pizzas and have everybody byob. Maybe the in-towners can bring some balls for the kids.
Hey Rod- do you have a way of finding the directions to/from KH and the Ren I posted from Ben S a while back? Thought we could give the link to them again- maybe the DD’s can print them out if they need them. Ben said that’s a better way than what Mapsco gave. Thanks!
I throw out 6:45 for a meeting time at the Ren. We’ll clear the parking. Michelle and I will probably already be at K&H doing final set up, but we’ll probably take a cab over there and catch a ride home with a DD.
Oh, Wendy just you wait. Teenage boys just get worse and their friends are pretty bad, too. You cannot wear pajama’s in from of any of them and you most definately cannot leave panties or bras out even if they just got out of the dryer. Those items go up immediately, otherwise your boys guy friends will looks at them and do things that I will not even mention here. A delightful term I have had the misfortune of over hearing is MILF. NASTY! And Richard – I would not suggest googling that term if you don’t know it….you will most definately get porn. Ahhh, the joys of raising teenage boys. Hahaha
I just looked at the picture for today. I really haven’t had any clever comments (like Mark) and don’t today. But what I did notice was that someone is blatently picking their nose. Of course, it is a teenage boy. Another discovery of teenager boys….they are going to pick/scratch anything and everything in and out of public. I believe this topic was discussed earlier by Carolyn, Wendy and Alicia concerning Nadal. So I guess I can add….even on world wide television.
Caption: Hunter W ponders why cousin Henry has punished him, surrounding him with these miscreants. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Jack and Julie ponder a quick get away as Holly and Anna are agasp that someone would have the gall to take their picture … in they gym … with *these* people.
Speaking of MILF, my wife was agast the other day at my assertion that one of her students had a crush on her. She said that high school boys never think of their teachers “that way”. I told her that she had lost her everloving mind. Although I can’t say I remember any of our teachers being exceptionally lust worthy. I think my mind may have wandered in Mrs Sileo’s class from chemistry to physical science, but I can’t recall anyone else.
Today’s photo is full of captions – Here’s a few.
Student says to Bugger Man ” Ten bucks if you eat it, 50 bucks if you wipe it on your lady”
Dr King smiles and thinks ” My plan is so fool proof. Sitting next to Betty and Cathy, these students think I’m such a stud!” (side note – he was to cool for school)
Cathy thinks ” DAMN IT, I didn’t cover my face in time! These students will think I’m a dork for sitting next to Crawford. Shit!”
And Betty, well just look at the picture. No caption required.
Enough for today kids!
Hey guys- just a reminder- Michelle and I will be standing out at the front gate at the Biscuits game (from 6:30 to 7:15, right Michelle?) and will hand everybody their packets with baseball tickets, drink tickets for Saturday night (don’t lose them!) and name tags for both nights. The name tags are primarily for the spouses- so don’t lose them either!! See ya’ll in a few!
Pat – Referring to today’s photo, please explain to the readers why the happy go lucky smile compared to the sad and lonely faces. It looks like you are posing for the damn yearbook? Help us understand.
UPDATE: Thanks to the STJ website, we now know the answer to the question of the day. Since current STJ students and faculty are/will be reading this, probably including Principal Pearson and possibly including Mr. Pearson, I will respectfully say that Mr. Pearson is still a lucky man.
Pat- tell Wendy I’m wearing jeans, a fun “going out” shirt, and heels Sat night- and I think some of the girls are wearing dresses. Really whatever is comfortable- not a fancy night- just going out wear. That’s all girl language- but she’ll get it.
Michelle-it did rain here last night, and the game was rained out. Rich called for scattered showers through the weekend.
Principal Pearson. Now that’s funny. I’da gotten sent to the office alot more if she had been principal “back in the day”. Trexler was a nice guy, but not much to look at. I’m not sure I would guess 30 though. It’s entirely possible that she was more like 25. At any rate I will avoid the obvious spanking jokes, etc.
Someone who knows the story on Tommy M. please send Shannon an e-mail. I have heard the story but don’t remember it well enough to tell it myself, and it probably shouldn’t be posted here either. But it is NOT for the same reasons as Crawford King…
Unless it rains ALL day Friday we probably won’t call it until 3 or 4. So everyone, be on the alert. We will call you but if not, call me or Laura.
The backup plan is as follows:
Meet at the “new” STJ Gym on Vaughn Road at 7pm. We will order pizzas and let the kids run around and play. Local people, please bring balls or stuff for the kids to play as Laura and I will have nothing with us.
Hey Michelle – getting out of Tennessee today will probably be much easier than going in (good luck Steven). DV said that traffic wasn’t too bad last night, but I can imagine today is going to be worse and tomorrow just crazy.
Hey Rod – I got caught up on the blog this morning…what was wrong with you at 4:35 yesterday afternoon? Your typing was kinda weird. It was 5 o’clock somewhere right? Hahaha
Hey Skip – you need to get busy. Our guinea pig had babies again yesterday. That makes a total of 7! I think I’ll put them in my bag for Friday night and let them lose on the Biscuits field. 20 year later Senior prank?! Hahaha!
After 12 noon today, I will be headed to the land of the lost otherwise known as my parent’s house in Prattville. I will not have internet access unless I go to Starbucks. So if you need me, call my cell.
It looks like the website will top 50,000 hits TODAY!!! Not that it matters much. I had made a prediction that we would get 50K before the reunion, then things got slow the past two weeks and I didn’t think we would.
Preech. I’m proud to accept King of Caption award. I would like to thank Rod for choosing some funny pics. However the best caption belongs to Rod – ” Mr Ed”. (refer to 5/22 picture). Now that was some funny schitte.
Cathy represents STJ very well!
Sharon – I went to Bangor Maine for a Phish concert ( 3 days ) and that ended the large festival crap for me. Phish used a closed military base and had the concert on the runway. Great set up however I prefer small venues.
I thought I refrained very well in regard to that P.O.S. Johnson dude.
Michelle – I don’t need a ticket for Friday night.
Dealing with private schools on a daily basis, it is truly amazing that our teachers were as fantastic as they were. All I will say is that you would be suprised for what passes as acceptable some times. It is truly scary that some of these people are teaching the leaders of tomorrow.
Ben: What do you do?
Acceptable is scary…teachers need to teach b/c they have a passion for it, not just for a paycheck(even though they aren’t paid enough for what they do or put up with..this only applies to the good ones)
When your job becomes a paycheck..it is way past time to do something else.
Okay, no more playing for me. I have work to finish.
Rod: Maybe your right…..the work ethic with kids, teenagers etc these days SUCKS!
They expect everything to be given to them or half ass do something. Well, really they do just enough to get by, instead of challenging themselves and putting in the extra effort….But, we need to take a good look in the mirror and see how we are contributing to this mentality as parents too. Every generation contributes or helps shape the next generation. Sometimes they get it right, but most times…not.
Wendy: I do integration\training\support for school administration systems and teacher’s gradebook software. The majority of our schools are private\parochial and there are some really good ones (STJ, Trinity, and ACA just to name a few), but then there are some …. I’ll just say I am glad I didn’t go there.
Rod: How about shining examples of what not to do? I probably resemble that very well. Remember, do as I say, not as I do.
Many of you have probably noticed that Tommy Kirkland hasn’t posted in a while. What you may not have heard is that he recently had a mental breakdown. Here’s what happened. Two weeks ago he was working at his office. There was some kind of insurance seminar going on next door to his office, Women in Insurance, or something like that. Anyway, Tommy burst into the seminar with a shotgun and demanded that the ladies stop using his bathroom. Everyone was shocked, especially since no one had used his bathroom. For reasons we still don’t understand, Tommy then took three of the ladies, at gun point, and locked them in his bathroom. Tommy then hopped in his car and led the police on a high speed chase. He crossed the Georgia line, and then came back into Alabama. The cops had to shoot his tires out, and he still drove on the rims for several miles. When they finally got him out of the car, he kept screaming, “There are rats and roaches everywhere!!!! Rats and roaches everywhere!!!!!” I guess the pressure of impending fatherhood was just too much for him. They’ve taken him to Bryce Hospital for observation. He’s hoping to be out of the hospital in time for the reunion, but it doesn’t look good. Just a really sad situation. Please keep him in your prayers.
Since Hunter has been deemed “wasted time” (although I’d still like to know!) I am waiting on an e-mail about Tommy M. Apparently other inquiring minds want to know as well. firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks!
Y’all have a GREAT time this weekend. Can’t wait to see pictures!!! Hope the weather holds out and everyone has safe travel.
Shannon, I’m not serious. At least that didn’t really happen to Tommy. However, a celebrity once really did that, almost word for word. The first person who can tell me what celebrity did that will get my drink tickets at the reunion.
I am sorry to say that I am not going to be able to make it tonight. I hate it but just can’t make it work out with our trip tomorrow and leaving for a week.
I do hope you all have LOTS of fun tomorrow night and have a drink for me – in more ways than one as a celebration of our 20th reunion and also because I cannot have one since I am 4 months pregnant. Due end of November.
Rod: What about the white power ranger outfit w/helmet? You disappoint me! LOL!
Alicia: I’ve already told you congrats several weeks ago, but I’m saying it again!!! Plus I’m wishing you the best of luck being prego in the Ga. heat during the summer!!! Have fun on your trip. We will miss you. Be safe!!!! Call me or email me when you get back.
Superhero night at the ball park:hummm! Can’t come up with anything creative on such short notice.
Michelle: I’m planning on being there. Fingers crossed…just waiting on ballgames to end and children to get home. I guess you have to say timing is everything! What number can I reach you at if the game has already started? What is the weather looking like?
I talked to Michelle a little while ago and it looks like we are going to stick with the Biscuits game. The weather is not definite either way, so unless something drastic changes this afternoon the game is ON!
Alicia: Congrats on the whole preggo thing. At least the ‘worst’ part will be when it isn’t unbearably hot. I know women have this hormone that helps them forget childbirth, but, just keep in mind, the best part of the whole baby thing is making them. (Or so I’ve been told. Of course I wouldn’t know anything about any of that.)
We’ll miss you!!!!!
Wendy: Get your guys in gear and come on.
Dick: If you’re wanting to get rid of your drunk (sic.) tickets, I might know someone that could help you with that.
Anyone know who Bud gets as the beertender for these things?
Congratulations Alicia! Keep up & let us all know what you’re having. I’ll miss seeing you at the reunion. Take care & hope you’re feeling good. Also, have a safe & fun trip.
Wendi- Hope you make it! Be safe. Looking forward to all the kids meeting- no matter what their ages.
I’ve loaned out my “Incredibles” Suit, so no superheroes costume for me tonight.
I’ll miss all those who can’t make it. Chas I was very sorry to hear you won’t be there. Would love to chat withyou sometime if you ever want to email. Would love to know what the “real” you is up to. (I’m sure lots of mischief!)
Carolyn- Thanks for offering the after party party- count me in w/out kid & possibly Hubby. I’ll provide any beverage requested- and some munchies would probably be a good thing to have on hand. Cheerios may not be enough!
Rod: Oh no! I was so looking forward to that. Thanks for Michelle’s number, that is what I needed in case we were running late.
Ben: Bud’s beertender better be a cosmotender…cos I’m gonna need my drink filled up frequently!!!
I’m coming….remember I’m an hour ahead of you, so if we can make it out of Hotlanta, then we are good to go. There is no good time to try to get through Atlanta…you just have to hope there is no wrecks or they happen as your passing by them. It is the only place I have lived where the interstate is filled with bumper to bumper traffic even at 3am and 4am. Its ridiculous!!!
Happy Father’s Day!!! Even for our two newest fathers, Mark and Tommy!!!!!
I had a great time. It was wonderful seeing everyone last night!!! We need to do this more often and make sure too keep in touch with one another.
To everyone nursing hangovers today…my husband being one of them…eat..eat..eat and drink plenty of water!
Penny: I laughed when you said you got home at 1am. I think Greg and I finally made it to bed after 4am(Alabama time) Unfortunately, my body was still on Ga. time which was after 5am. Yikes!!! I’m glad this only happens once every 20 years. There’s no way I could do this on a weekly basis anymore.
Pat: Next reunion, we are going to duet… so start practicing..”clean,dry was my body and hair…” Ha! Ha! I even surprised myself remembering that!!!
Where did you go last night Sharon????
Well, I got to get my crew on the road. Rod, I will send you my pictures later today or tomorrow. Again, thanks for doing this sight for us. This couldn’t have been pulled off without you.
Thanks Michelle and Laura!!! Be careful getting back home today.
Caption: OH MY GOD! Is that me?? I didn’t recognize myself. So Blue & Jim -don’t feel bad about not recognizing me! LOL
To everyone-I had a great time. It wasn’t long enough to talk to everyone. I feel like I didn’t get to say goodbye to anyone. I had a blast. Was hurting after only 2 hours of sleep. The 4 hour drive home almost killed me! And somehow it turned into 5 hours.
We definitely want to do mini-reunions. We don’t have to do big productions. We can get together for football games or whatever. Someone plan it and put it out there. And whoever shows up, will party.
Thanks again Rod for the website. If it wasn’t for it, we wouldn’t have known everyone’s story. That made last night so much fun because the ice was broken and we could just hang out.
Carolyn: Hey Girl! How are you doing? I’m just checking on you. Call me or email me.
Thanks for getting the room, so we could party after the party. I had fun and I miss you already!
Are you staying until Tuesday or did you decide to head back this afternoon?
Charlie and I had such a great time last night! We enjoyed meeting all of your families and visiting with you all! Sorry we can’t party like you rock stars but we tried to hang as much as possible. Thanks Laura and Michelle for doing all the leg work, it turned out great! Thanks also to Carolyn and Bronwyn for the penthouse party! Hope everyone got back home safely and hope to see you soon! Love, Erin
Hey guys! Just got back in to Dallas- whew. What a great time!
Thanks so much to everyone that helped out- this was by far a group effort and that’s why it turned out so fun. I hope everyone had as much fun as it looked like you were! I know I did. 4 hours of sleep was a little painful, but it was well worth it. There is no way any of this weekend could have happened without all the help from so many people- planning, organizing, giving ideas, hosting events, babysitting my kids (special thanks to Sharon), driving people around, etc, etc…. THANKS!
Oh, and by the way, the massage was fantastic! Thanks for that, too.
I have HUNDREDS (seriously, 234 to be exact) pics from Friday night and Saturday night. I am furiously editing and will get a link to Rod by the end of tomorrow, I promise. Rod- let me know if posting all those pics here will be a nightmare- I could just send the link out to everyone and you can pick your favorites to post on the site. I will also start putting them in the book and get the link for that out to ya’ll, hopefully by first of next week.
Everyone that has pics please send them my way asap- would love to have them in the book! It will be published within two weeks before I leave town again. Also I know a few of you got some video of Saturday night… my life will not be fulfilled until I can see Mark dancing around that pole again (and that wasn’t even the after party)!!!! Please send DVDs. I bet Rod can get video posted on here!
Speaking of Mark- sorry we missed each other today- you still owe me a house tour. Next time. OK the 4 hours is catching up to me. I hope everyone made it home safely. To those who could not be there, you were missed. Chas, I’ll just go ahead and apologize to you now for what you will hear happened to “you” Saturday night.
Had a great time this weekend. Thanks for all who made it happen. Count me in for mini events. I’m up for drinks or a round of golf any time.
For those of you that remember my little brother that was 4 years behind us, his wife had a 9 lb baby boy this morning named Henry Foster Dickson. I’m an uncle for the second time now.
For those that didn’t make it, you were missed. Pete, I hope you and the family are well. Four hours sleep probably sounds pretty good to you about now. Shelby, Coleman, Gavin, and anyone else within driving range, you guys shoulda come. You missed a nice time.
Hope you don’t mind, but when I talked to Angela on Saturday night, I told her how much her sweet husband had been bragging on her on this site. Ya’ll are so cute together- I have a great pic of you. Now back to editing….
Wendi, I was just about to post the exact same thing to you, as well as to Laura L, Kim, Charles and Blue. I saw all of you guys and had every intention of saying hello before the evening ended, and never did. I suspect you all managed to have a good time even without talking to me (as hard as that is to believe), but I still regret not saying hello to you.
Otherwise, I had a great time both nights. It was really good to see everyone. As for my after party, party, I opted for Frosted Flakes instead of Cheerios. It was everything I hoped for and more.
OK Y’all …… I just want to say how great it was to see all y’all and meet your significant others. It made me realize just how much I miss you. (Sappy but true.) I tried to get around and talk to everyone, but am afraid I missed a couple. Forgive me. I hope we can all keep in touch and do this again before another 10 years have passed.
Sharon: Everyone get home with all facilities intact? Tattooless?
Caption: Then..Drag escort service provider “Making men feel like real women”..to Pole Dancing service “No pole is too big or small….you can dance on any of them..let me show you how it’s DONE!” Leading the industry in providing “sex that sells” for over 20 years!!!
Laura, Michelle & Rod-Awsome job!! The group picture looks great! I am so amazed how GREAT EVERYONE looked! Not one person looked like they were approaching their 40’s. I bet you can’t find too many 20 year reunions where everyone looked great and younger than they really are! The whole weekend was so much fun. I enjoyed reconnecting with so many people. We definitely need to do a 25 year!
Awe! It has been so sweet to read all the after weekend comments. As for Bronwyn’s comment about how everyone looks, I have to say… I can’t imagine many graduating classes being as successful in life as we all are 20 yrs later. We don’t have one single graduate who wasted their life. Some of you excelled in your education, some of us did not. Some of us have children, some don’t. Some of you have spectacular career lives, some of us have simple lives. What ever path we chose, although so different, we all seem to be happy, fulfulled in what ever choices we have made.
Thank you so much to everyone for sharing in the old memories and making new one. This weekend made me realize how much I cherish the old friendships. I also feel like new doors were opened for new relationships with old aquaintences. Laura Letcher, Jack Draper, some of you I hardly knew in High school. I really look forward to seeing all of you again.
As for the after party party, Sorry we missed it.
My trip to Cape Canaveral lasted a little longer than expected. My flight was delayed and I ended up having to read Dr. Sues while waiting for the rocket to take off again. Maybe in ten years we can try the after party party. I don’t know though, those rocket rides are pretty impressive!
Let’s try for homecoming this year at STJ!
We can keep up here on Rod’s Site!!!!
Richard: The only way your frosted flakes could have been everything you hoped for and more..is if it was served 9 1/2 weeks style. LOL!
David R: I saw you a million times too and never did get the chance to say hello. So, I’m saying it now.
Laura: I think if Ben S hadn’t of left when he did, then he would have most definitely got the sharpie!!! Maybe we should do him a picture sharpie face. Since we all know he was going to be the winner!!
Caption: After drinking an “acid” red headed ??, Mark bets Pat that he can limbo without anything touching the pole. Pat laughs so hard he almost wets his pants and agrees to the bet with Mark. Pat is confident this bet is a fo sho tight pay off as Mark tries to figure out how he is going to pull it off.
The reunion was just great!! Thank you Laura, Michelle, and Rod. I was so wonderful to catch up with everyone and see people I literaly haven’t seen in 20 years. I agree with Ben and Anita and echo their ’sappy’ comments. I didn’t realize how much I missed you guys and I plan on keeping in better touch with you all.
Hey Ben S. – DV got home today. He was tired and sun burned but had no tattoo’s or new piercings that were visible. Thank goodness. He was on the front row for Widespread Panic last night and said there were hundreds of thousands of people there!! He thinks he will most definately be on the DVD that comes out sometime soon.
Wendi (and everyone else who was at the after party) – I had an emergency I had to take care of at home that I really cannot get into on the world wide web. That is the truth. By the time I got back to the Hotel, I was so angry that I was in no mood to be nice to anyone and it was just best for me to turn in for the evening. Sorry.
Hope to eat lunch, dinner, football games, and the like with you all real soon.
I do agree with Anita about the relationships. This reunion inspired me to keep in better contact with my classmates. Now that we have aged a bit, it was very interesting to hear about each one of you and your families. I hope that everyone feels the same about keeping in touch!
Hey guys- everyone don’t forget if you’re ever in the Dallas area call me! I know Pat and Wendy are planning a visit (at least Wendy is ), and a few others talked about doing business around here. I would love to see any of you again any time! I would love to keep up too but I’m a little too far away for lunches. Keep my cell number and email…
Sharon: I’m sorry. Call me if you need to talk. We are going to keep in touch with each other over the next 20 years much better than we have the last 20years. B/c I missed you guys too. Lucky, you weren’t there..Carolyn got me upset when she got upset about saying goodbye. Not a pretty sight at 4am in the morning after 5..6..7..oh whatever! too many drinks. Hopefully DV didn’t come home with VD(dyslexia) either. Sorry Sharon, I couldn’t resist on that one….it was fitting, considering his age, where he was at, and what controls his thoughts and emotions. Sharon sounds like you are volunteering to plan the next event. Ha! Ha!
Laura: Can’t we sharpie up a picture of Ben S. instead? I’m not sure what was in them besides Jaegarmeister. I have had some with red bull or tequila in them too. I think the ones Mark made were called the red headed bitch (yikes!! looked it up..it was red headed sister). I love Jaegarmeister all by itself. It has a unique taste like licorice. Definitely an acquired taste. If you like Nyquil, then Jaegar is a winner too.
Hey everyone, I guess I’ll echo the sappy comments. I really enjoyed catching up with you. Like Wendy, there are several of you that I kept planning to talk to and then didn’t. Thanks also to all of you who were so kind to Ashley. She really had a nice time, and that has a lot to do with what a great group of people you all are. It was fun, and I look forward to the next time!
